Not sure if you can tell what I have going on in the image below but this is an idea that I am thinking about doing for a new sculpture. Keep in mind that this is a very quick sketch and I’m trying to get a feel for how I would like to put together the sculpture. If I decide to do it I will take pictures of the different sculpting stages.

I just got a book out of the library today with impressive pictures of warrior angels and they truly were exciting to me. I’ve always seen angels as pretty much beautiful….almost like fairies, but the warrior angels depicted in the book (The Book of Angels illustrations by Ruth Thompson, L.A. Williams, and Renae Taylor and text by Todd Jordan) were incredibly exciting. I feel that is probably MUCH closer to the reality than the beautiful ones, though there may be some of those as well. The angels in the book were very muscular as are yours. I would highly encourage you to see if you could get a copy of this book as I think it would further encourage you that you’re on the right track and perhaps inspire some more of your designs. I looked in the book and on the back cover is a website you can look up—-www.tarnishedimages.com, www.lawilliams.com, www.renaetaylor.biz.
So…..check them out and see what you think…..
I don’t know if you’re a Christian or not (I am) and I can see the text of this book is definitely not overall Christian, though some parts are….of course where they are quoting actual scripture. Appears to be more of a fantasy book.
